Day 1 – May 23, 2025: Arrival in Mexico City

Upon arrival in Mexico City, one of the largest and most historic metropolises in the world, guests will be greeted by an English-speaking assistant and transferred to their hotel via private group transport. After check-in at the Hotel Galeria Plaza Reforma, guests will have time to relax and explore at their own pace. The day is free for guests to unwind and get acquainted with the vibrant atmosphere of the city before the adventures begin.

Day 2 – May 24, 2025: Xochimilco, Coyoacán & Frida Kahlo Museum

The day begins with a visit to Xochimilco, famous for its floating gardens and colorful trajinera boats. Guests will enjoy a leisurely ride through the historic canals, once part of the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlán. Next, the group will head to Coyoacán, a charming colonial neighborhood known for its cobblestone streets, plazas, and cafes. Here, we will explore the lively main square and visit the Frida Kahlo Museum, also known as the “Blue House,” where the renowned artist lived and worked. The museum is filled with her paintings, personal artifacts, and memorabilia of her husband, Diego Rivera. A delicious three-course vegan-friendly lunch will be served at Na Tlali Restaurant before returning to the hotel to rest or explore the city at leisure.

Day 3 – May 25, 2025: Mexican Cooking Class & National Museum of Anthropology

This day is dedicated to the flavors of Mexico, beginning with a Mexican cooking class and market visit in the Roma Norte neighborhood. Guests will start their culinary journey with a welcome “agua fresca” or Mexican coffee at the Aura Cooking Studio before heading to the Mercado de Medellin for an immersive market tour. Visitors will have the chance to sample unique ingredients like mamey fruit before returning to the studio for a hands-on cooking class. The menu includes street appetizers with Mexican salsas, prehispanic “mextlapiques,” a traditional “mole blanco” dish, and corn cake for dessert, accompanied by artisanal mezcal, Mexican craft beer, or wine.

In the afternoon, the group will visit the National Museum of Anthropology, one of the most comprehensive museums in the world, housing an extensive collection of pre-Hispanic artifacts. Day 4 – May 26, 2025: Teotihuacán & Basilica de Guadalupe

For those seeking a once-in-a-lifetime experience, the day begins early with an optional hot air balloon ride over Teotihuacán ($210 per person). Guests will meet at Globoport at 6:00 AM, enjoy coffee and cookies while the balloon is prepared, and then float over the breathtaking pyramids of the ancient city. The ride lasts approximately 45 minutes to an hour, depending on weather conditions, and is followed by a celebratory toast and breakfast buffet.

After returning to the ground, the full group will visit the Plaza de las Tres Culturas, a symbolic site showcasing the blend of Aztec, Spanish, and modern Mexican influences. The next stop is the Basilica de Guadalupe, Mexico’s most important religious shrine, where guests can view the sacred cloak of Juan Diego, said to bear the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe. The day starts with a guided tour of Mexico City, beginning at the Zócalo, one of the world’s largest city squares. Guests will explore the Metropolitan Cathedral, the largest church in Latin America, and visit the Templo Mayor, the ruins of the ancient Aztec capital of Tenochtitlán. This archaeological site, located beneath the Metropolitan Cathedral, reveals the remains of the Aztecs’ most important religious temples and artifacts.

The tour continues to the Palacio de Bellas Artes, a cultural landmark that showcases magnificent murals by famous Mexican artists such as Diego Rivera and David Alfaro Siqueiros. Visitors will have time to admire its Art Deco and Art Nouveau architectural design and, if lucky, catch a glimpse of the stained-glass theater curtain made by Tiffany & Co.
