Day 1: Arrive Bucharest
Welcome to Romania – upon arrival, your Sky Vacations ambassador will meet and transfer you to your hotel. The remainder of the day is yours to unwind.
Day 2: Bucharest
After breakfast at your hotel, we start our day with a full day of sightseeing of this vibrant young city of Bucharest. We start with Bucharest Parliament building followed by Lipscani. Save your appetite for lunch at Hanul Manuc a traditional manor.
Day 3: Sinaia
The highlight of day is a trip to Sinaia – visit Castle PelesSinaia, one of Romania‘s finest holiday resorts, located deep into the Carpathian Mountains. In the late 19th century King Charles I of Romania chose Sinaia as his summer residence and built the fabulous Peles Castle that is a museum that some say rivals Versaille.
Day 4: Braşov
As we make our way to the gateway into Transylvania, you will notice the relaxed pace of life meandering through Brasov’s narrow cobblestone streets. Braşov boasts everything from dynamic modern city life to old world charm and fascinating scenery. We then continue to B ran Castle located between Transylvania and Wallachia, known as Dracula’s Castle, one of the beautiful tourist areas of Romania.
Day 5: Sibiu and Sibiel
Another exciting day awaits us as we make our way over to Sibiu, the capital of the Principality of Transylvania between 1692 and 1791 and 1849–65. Sibiu was named the European Region of Gastronomy, while in 2020 it was designated “Europe’s sixth best tourist destination”. Let’s plan our trip to this fascinating region that will host the European Wandering Capital event in 2021, the most important tourist wandering event in Europe.
We then continue to Sibiel – surrounded by forest, there’s a hint of fairy-tale menace in Sibiel’s stark setting. Our day ends with a visit to Hunedoara to see the epic Corvin Castle, a Gothic-Renaissance castle, one of the largest in Europe.
Day 6: Alba Iulia and Coltesti
Go back to the High Middle Ages with a trip to Alba lulia. Since the High Middle Ages, the city has been the seat of Transylvania’s Roman Catholic diocese. Between 1541 and 1690 it was the capital of the Eastern Hungarian Kingdom and the latter Principality of Transylvania.
We then continue to Coltesti, in the heart of the Carpatian Mountains to relax and unwind at an exceptional Manor House.
Day 7: Turda and Cluj-Napoca
Enjoy a visit to the city of Turda, first a Dacian settlement (Dierna) and later a Roman castrum (Potaissa), around which grew a municipality and later a colony. On the outskirts of the city are the salt mines worked in Roman times. The city is now an important industrial center, with a cement mill, a glass and ceramics factory, a chemical works
Continue to Cluj-Napoca one of the most visited cities in Romania, it is certainly a great experience for those who want to see urban Transylvanian life at its best. Along with fine dining, excellent cultural activities, a wonderful historical legacy and a great atmosphere. The city is home of several top-level universities and sports venues.
Day 8: Farewell Romania
It’s time to say au revoir to Romania and continue to your onward journey.
