DAY 1 – WELCOME
Welcome to Israel! Upon arrival you’ll be met by our Sky Vacations ambassador who will meet you and will take you to your hotel. The balance of the day is yours to unwind as you prepare for your journey.
DAY 2 – TEL AVIV / JAFFA
The journey begins! Begin the day by visiting the first neighborhood in Tel Aviv, Ned Zedek. Tel Aviv is also known as the “White City” because of its famous Bauhaus architecture of which Tel Avivi boasts more than any other city in the world. Stroll along the Rothschild Boulevard while your guide expalins the history of this area and its famous buildings. You’ll have free time to stroll the boutiques and galleries and enjoy lunch on your own before heading to Jaffa. Few places are as ancient and famous as the port city of Jaffa, where as you walk the streets, its historical and biblical past comes to life.
DAY 3 – CASAREA /NAZARETH / SEA OF GALILEE
Depart Tel Aviv today as you head to visit some of the most important Holy Sites on earth. Begin with a stop to the Mount of the Beatitudes where Jesus gave the famous “Sermon on the Mount” Next it’s a stop at Capernaum, which Jesus chose as home base for his ministry. You’ll also visit the modern church that is built over the traditional home of St. Peter. Your tour also includes a visit to Tabgha, site of Jesus’ multiplication of the loaves. You’ll then drive to Nazareth, childhood home of Jesus and one of the most important sites to Christians from around the world. You’lll walk these ancient streets, stop at the Basillica of the Annunciation and visit the Muslim Marketplace, an historical market with thousands of spices, herbs and oils. You’ll return to Tel Aviv where the evening is yours to enjoy on your own.
DAY 4 – JERUSALEM & BETHLEHEM
There’s no better way to start the day than high atop the Mount of Olives for a spectacular view of the Holy City Jerusalem. From this point, visit the Garden of Gethsemane, the site of Jesus’ arrest. You’ll then enter the ancient city through the Lion Gate and a walk along the Via Dolorosa and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the place of Jesus’ crucifiction and burial tomb.
The next stop is the famous Oriental Bazaar, including the Armenian Quarter, where everything from ceramics to olive oil is sold! Your next stop is Mount Zion, King David’s Tomb and the Upper Room, where the Last Supper was held. Finish your your with a visit to the Western Wall, the holiest place on earth for the Jewish people from which you can see the Dome of the Rock.
After some free time, this afternoon, journey to Bethlehem and the Church of the Nativity, where you will descend to the underground cave beneath the basilica, famous the world over as the birthplace of Jesus. Head back to Jerusalem where the remainder of the day is yours to explore the city.
DAY 5 – JERUSALEM – THE NEW CITY
Begin the day with an emotional visit to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial, a world center for documentation, education and commemoration that safeguards the memory of the past and provides a resource for future generations. Following your visit here, it’s a visit to Machne Yehuda Market, the center of Jerusalem’s food scene. You’ll haves brief tour and free time to find the lunc of your choice, from falafel to shawarma! You’ll then have time to explore the Israel Museum, with its vast fine art, archeological and historical collections and of course, the Shrine of the Book, home to the Dead Sea Scrolls. This evening, it’s off to the Tower of David for for a show where the past and present come to life as one.
DAY 6 – MASADA AND THE DEAD SEA
After breakfast, take a short drive south to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Masada. The cable car will take you high to the top while year learn about the history of the sacred place. Experience spectacular views of the desert and visit the ancient synagogue and Byzantine era church before heading down.
Next stop is the lowest on earth – the Dead Sea. Unwind as you float in the the saltiest body of water on the planet and relax in the amazing atmosphere. Lunch will be served here with plenty of time to enjoy before returning to Jerusalem.
DAY 7 – FAREWELL
Today you’ll be transferred from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport for your flight and onward journey.
