Day 1 – Arrive Brisbane
Welcome to Brisbane, the capital of Queensland. You’ll be met by you Sky Vacations ambassador and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy some free time before an evening dinner featuring regional wines at a restaurant frequented by locals.
Day 2: Brisbane
This morning you depart on an exciting tour of Australia’s most exciting city! Your tour includes a visit to the Queensland Museum and Brisbane’s beautiful Botanical Gardens. You’ll also see famous sights like Story Bridge, Kangaroo Point, Brisbane River, Fortitude Valley, China Town, ANZAC Square, King George Square, and the Brisbane City Markets. We’ve given you plenty of free time to explore the city on your own, enjoy lunch and do some shopping. Tonight, experience Brisbane’s night life and local vibes over a special dinner.
Day 3: Brisbane
Another exciting day in Brisbane awaits! First up is a true bucket list experience. Visit Brisbane Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary: Connect with nature like never before with a free flight raptor show, sheep dog show and yes, your own photo with a Koala!
This evening, chose from one of these incredible experiences:
Champagne & Oyster Tour: Set sail on a three hour cruise of Moreton Bay where you’ll encounter amazing sea life along the way. Learn all about farming oysters and enjoy some of the best oysters in the world along with a glass (or three!) of bubbly! And for those not into oysters, just let us know and we can arrange to have a cheeseboard ready for you onboard.
River Cocktail Cruise: From the comfort of a custom built vessel, you’ll enjoy views of the city skyline as you hop on and off at three of Brisbane’s most loved cocktail bars. This four hour adventure included two drinks on the boat plus discounts on cocktails at each stop. If you‘re a cocktail lover, this is made for you!
Day 4: Hamilton Island
The sun is out and there are adventures to be had! Feeling energetic? Head out for a challenging hike to Passage Peak or take a more leisurely walk to Hideaway Bay to kick start your day. I bet you’ve worked up an appetite now! Head in for your buffet breakfast, rumoured to be the best in The Whitsundays…
After breakfast, the day is yours. Review the activity schedule via the Hamilton Island App to help plan your day or take a leisurely stroll to Catseye Beach and onto Front Street to explore the resort shops.
If you’re after more activity, head to Catseye Beach and practice your sailing skills on the small catamarans or borrow some snorkelling equipment and swim out over the inshore reef. The day is yours and anything you don’t get done today you can pick up tomorrow!
Day 5: Hamilton Island / Great Barrier Reef
Rise and shine it’s time to visit one of the seven wonders of the world! What an incredible day you’re about to have.
You will be departing the marina at 9am, so it’s time to get up and get ready.
What to bring:
- Swimwear and towel
- Protective clothing, hat and sunscreen
- Camera
- Light jacket or sweater for a cool or windy day
- Credit card for optional activities (guided snorkelling safaris, scuba diving)
8:30am: head to the marina and check in for your day cruise.
9am: You’re onboard and ready to go on a once-in-a-lifetime cruise through the Whitsunday islands and onto the outer Great Barrier Reef. Once you arrive at Reefworld, the pontoon permanently moored at the Great Barrier Reef, you can get straight into snorkelling and meet the local fish and see all the coral.
What’s included in your day:
- Scenic return cruise through The Whitsundays to the outer reef
- 4 hours at Hardy Reef
- Snorkelling with all gear provided, including wetsuits and stinger suits
- Access to the underwater observatory
- Semi-submarine guided tour
- Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea
- Optional activities (at own expense): guided snorkelling safaris and scuba diving
Day 6: Hamilton Island / Great Barrier Reef
Phew, it’s been a busy couple of days. Today is your day to kick back and relax, take a stroll on Catseye Beach, enjoy a long lunch on Front Street or lay back at the pool and enjoy the ocean views and cold cocktails.
Not done with the activities yet? We can load this day up with some more! We recommend a hike on one of the many tracks, an ATV tour of the island followed by lunch on Front Street and finish your day off with cold drinks at the pool bar. The day is yours and you can be as busy or as quiet as you like.
Day 7: Sydney
After some free time in the morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Sydney.
Day 8: Sydney
Today is all about Sydney! Your tour guide will begin by taking you to the most famous sight in the city, Sydney Opera House for a behind the curtain tour. You’ll visit Bondi Beach with time to explore the neighborhood, shoot and grab a bite on your own. Tonight, a special farewell dinner cruise ends your time in Australia.
Day 9: Sydney – Airport
