Day 1
Arrival at the airport in Copenhagen and self-transfer to your hotel for dinner.
Day 2
After breakfast at the hotel, you will have free time to explore the center of Copenhagen. During the late morning you will go to the car rental office where you will pick up your car, with which you will cross the green and flat Zealand full of small typical villages. You will then reach the island of Fyn, by crossing the Storebælt bridge, with toll included. Once in Odense, the largest city on the island, you can get lost in the characteristic streets surrounded by many colorful houses (including the one of the famous writer Hans C. Andersen).
Day 3
After breakfast at the hotel, head towards the Jutland peninsula. After passing the beautiful towns of Middelfart and Horsens you will reach Aarhus, Denmark’s second largest city, where you can visit the Cathedral (the largest in Denmark), the Marselisborg Palace and the open-air museum “Den Gamle By”, which is a reconstruction of a Danish village.
Day 4
After breakfast at the hotel, you will drive north until you reach Aalborg, which represents a mixture of old and new. There you can have a walk through the small alleys, stop either in a cozy café overlooking examples of street art, or in front of the typically “crooked” houses of the fifteenth century. Enjoy dinner and head back to the hotel.
Day 5
After breakfast at the hotel, you will reach Skagen, the northernmost tip of Jutland, you will see, nearby, Grenen, a strip of sand that extends north-east at the point where the two seas, Skagerrat and Kattegat, meet and their waves culminate against each other without ever mixing. A few kilometers away there is the village of Ålbæk, “the Village of Light”, where you can experience the surrounding nature and visit the harbor with beautiful sandy white beaches as a frame.
Day 6
After breakfast, you will return to Århus and take a ferry back to Zealand, and then proceed north until you reach Gilleleje, a small and pretty fishing town.
Day 7
Breakfast at the hotel and return to Copenhagen, where you will drop off your car and then you will have time to visit the city center.
Day 8
Breakfast at the hotel and self-transfer to the airport.
