Day 1: Arrival, Cairo Egypt
Arrive in Cairo to discover the contrasts of this ancient city. Your Sky Vacations ambassador will meet and assist you with your Egyptian entry visa, and then accompany you to your hotel hotel for check in. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore Cairo.
Day 2: Cairo Tour
After breakfast, you’ll meet your guide and depart on a full day tour exploring some of Egypt’s most famous sites. Begin with Giza, home to the most famous pyramids on earth and the great Sphinx. Following your visit to Giza, you’ll continue to Memphis, the capital of ancient Egypt and Sakkara, home to the famous “step pyramid.” You’ll also enjoy a stop lunch at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel.
Day 3: Full Day Cairo Tour
Today your off on a full day tour exploring Cairo. Begin with a visit to the Egyptian Museum, housing more than 250,000 artifacts and mummies from Ancient Egypt. Your visit to the museum is followed by a stop at the Cairo Citadel. Built in 1176 is an important example of medieval Islamic era architecture. After a stop for lunch, visit the most famous bazaar (souq) in all of Egypt, Khan el-Khalili. Rich with history, the bazaar is home to many artist workshops, a spice market, carpet sellers and vendors of just about anything you can think of!
Day 4: Cairo – Luxor
This morning, your driver will transfer you to the Cairo airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival, your Sky Vacations ambassador will transfer you to your hotel. After time to freshen up, depart for a tour of Karnak & Luxor Temples. At Karnak you will walk halls and pass through temples that date back over 3,000 years! At Luxor, admire one of the most beautiful of all Egyptian temples embellished by both King Tut and Alexander the great.
Day 5: Luxor
Another exciting day awaits you! Today your full day tour takes to the Valley of the Kings, an awe inspiring site of archaeological wonders and the location of King Tutankhamun’s tomb. After lunch, visit the temple dedicated to the most famous and powerful queen of Egypt Queen Hatshepsut and see the Colossi of Memnon.
Day 6: Luxor – Aswan
Today your driver takes you to Aswan with a tour to Edfu and Kom Ombo. Your tour begins with a visit the 2,000 year old structures of Kom Ombo on the banks of the Nile.You’ll also see the Crocodile Museum with mummified reptiles! After lunch, it’s then off to Edfu, the most intact of all Egypt’s sanctuaries, the Temple of Horus, dedicate to the falcon headed deity.
Day 7: Abu Simbel
Today’s flight takes you to Abu Simbel. A masterwork of Egyptian engineering, the great temple is flanked by colossi of Ramses II and his wife Nefetari. This UNESCO World Heritage Site dates from the 13th century BC. Your day also includes a visit to the Temple of Philae and a felucca trip on the Nile!
Day 8: Farewell Egypt
You’ll transfer to the Aswan Airport for your flight to Cairo where your Sky Vacations ambassador will assist you on your onward journey.
