Day 1: Arrival in Dublin – Hillsborough Castle & Journey to Belfast
Welcome to Ireland! Upon arrival at Dublin Airport, you’ll be met by your Sky Vacations ambassador who will extend a warm Irish welcome and assist you with your luggage. Once everyone is comfortably settled, begin your journey north toward Belfast, the vibrant capital of Northern Ireland.
En route, stop at the elegant Hillsborough Castle and Gardens, the official royal residence in Northern Ireland and one of the country’s most beautiful heritage sites. Take time to explore the stately Georgian mansion, steeped in political and royal history, and wander through its beautifully landscaped gardens, which offer a peaceful and picturesque introduction to the region. After your visit, continue north through rolling countryside and charming towns as you make your way into Belfast. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and take some time to relax after your travels. Depending on your arrival time and energy levels, you may wish to enjoy a leisurely walk around the city or have dinner at one of Belfast’s excellent local restaurants.
Day 2: Exploring Belfast – History, Culture & Cuisine
Spend the day discovering the vibrant city of Belfast, a place where rich history and modern creativity blend seamlessly. Begin your morning with a visit to the world-renowned Titanic Belfast Museum, an immersive and award-winning experience located in the heart of the historic Titanic Quarter. Learn about the city’s shipbuilding heritage and the story of the RMS Titanic through interactive exhibits, original artifacts, and striking visuals. Afterwards, enjoy a guided city tour with your driver, exploring Belfast’s key landmarks and neighborhoods. Drive through the historic Cathedral Quarter, past City Hall, and along the peace walls and political murals, while gaining insight into the city’s complex past and its inspiring journey toward peace and renewal.
After your day of exploration, enjoy a relaxing evening at one of Belfast’s top restaurants, where the city’s emerging culinary scene shines. Whether you’re in the mood for modern Irish cuisine, fresh seafood, or international flavors, Belfast has something to suit every palate. End your evening with a nightcap at a local pub or live music in the lively Cathedral Quarter.
Day 3: The Antrim Coast – Rope Bridges, Giant’s Causeway & Derry Charm
Today, set off on one of the most scenic drives in Ireland along the breathtaking Antrim Coast, where dramatic cliffs, windswept beaches, and ancient legends await. Your first stop is the thrilling Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, suspended nearly 100 feet above the Atlantic Ocean. Take in the panoramic views as you cross the bridge to the tiny island once used by salmon fishermen — an unforgettable experience for thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike.
Continue along the coast to the legendary Giant’s Causeway, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Marvel at the 40,000 interlocking basalt columns created by ancient volcanic activity — or, as local folklore tells it, by the mighty giant Finn McCool. You may wish to join a guided walking tour to learn about the geology, myths, and fascinating natural history of this iconic site.
Alternatively, enjoy a unique “Whiskey on the Rocks” experience nearby, where you’ll sample fine Bushmills Irish whiskey just a stone’s throw from where the rocks themselves meet the sea. The Old Bushmills Distillery, founded in 1608 and considered the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world, has been crafting smooth, triple-distilled Irish whiskey for over 400 years. Savor a guided tasting that celebrates this storied heritage, discovering the subtle flavors of malt, oak, and coastal air that make Bushmills a true Irish classic.
In the afternoon, drive through the historic city of Derry/Londonderry, where you may choose to make a brief stop to walk along its well-preserved 17th-century city walls or explore the vibrant murals that tell stories of the city’s past and peacebuilding journey. Check into your hotel in Derry, and enjoy the evening at leisure. We highly recommend dinner at The Walled Brewery, a lively gastropub within the city walls offering locally sourced dishes, craft beers, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere — a perfect way to end a day of coastal adventure and cultural exploration.
Day 4: Stories of the Walled City – From Derry to Donegal
This morning, set out to explore Derry/Londonderry, one of Ireland’s most fascinating and historic cities. Known as the Walled City, Derry boasts the only fully intact city walls in Ireland, dating back to the early 17th century. Take a leisurely walk along the ramparts, which offer panoramic views over the River Foyle and the city’s historic quarters, while your guide shares stories of sieges, resilience, and renewal.
Continue to The Guildhall, one of Derry’s architectural gems. Built in neo-Gothic style in 1890, this magnificent building features stunning stained-glass windows and a captivating exhibition detailing the city’s complex history and vibrant cultural life. For a deeper understanding of Derry’s more recent past, visit one of the city’s many museums. We particularly recommend the Museum of Free Derry, located in the Bogside neighborhood. This moving and informative museum provides personal insights into the civil rights movement and the events of Bloody Sunday, offering a poignant perspective on the city’s journey toward peace and reconciliation.
In the afternoon, depart Derry and enjoy a scenic drive across the border into County Donegal, where rugged mountains and sweeping coastlines define the landscape. Arrive in Donegal Town, a charming heritage town nestled at the head of Donegal Bay. Check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure — perhaps dining in one of the town’s inviting restaurants or taking a sunset stroll along the quay.
Day 5: Wild Donegal – Clifftop Views & Castle Gardens
Spend the day immersed in the untamed beauty of County Donegal, one of Ireland’s most rugged and scenic regions, known for its dramatic coastline, towering cliffs, and wild landscapes. Begin with a visit to the awe-inspiring Slieve League Cliffs, among the highest sea cliffs in Europe. Far less crowded than the Cliffs of Moher, Slieve League offers a more peaceful and equally breathtaking experience. Enjoy a scenic clifftop walk, where panoramic views stretch across the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding mountains—ideal for photographers and nature lovers alike.
Next, journey along Donegal’s coastal route, passing stunning golden beaches, rocky headlands, and charming villages. This scenic drive takes you into the heart of the Glenveagh National Park, a remote and serene haven of lakes, forests, and mountains. From the visitor center, take a leisurely walk or shuttle ride through the peaceful valley to Glenveagh Castle, a 19th-century fairytale mansion nestled on the edge of Lough Veagh. Explore the beautifully maintained castle gardens, known for their exotic plants, walking paths, and tranquil atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot to pause and soak in the serenity of the Donegal wilderness.
Return to Donegal Town in the evening, where you can enjoy a relaxed dinner and perhaps a stroll along the quay or a visit to a cozy pub with traditional Irish music.
Day 6: Waterfalls, Wellness & the Wild West – From Sligo to Connemara
Today, begin your journey south from Donegal through the striking landscapes of County Sligo, a region steeped in natural beauty and literary history. Your first stop is the enchanting Glencar Waterfall, tucked away in a lush woodland setting near the shores of Glencar Lake. Enjoy a peaceful walk along the forest trail, where the cascading 15-metre waterfall — immortalized in the poetry of W.B. Yeats — offers a magical and refreshing start to your day.
Continue toward the coastal village of Strandhill, a haven for surfers and wellness seekers. Here, you’ll have the option to unwind at the renowned VOYA Seaweed Baths, a rejuvenating experience rooted in ancient Irish traditions. Soak in warm, mineral-rich seaweed baths that nourish the skin and calm the body. Alternatively, enjoy a scenic walk along Strandhill Beach, where the wild Atlantic waves and fresh ocean air offer their own kind of therapy.
After lunch, travel west toward County Mayo, passing through rugged countryside and along stretches of dramatic coastline. En route, stop at the remarkable Céide Fields, one of the world’s oldest known field systems, dating back nearly 6,000 years. The award-winning visitor center offers a fascinating glimpse into Neolithic life, revealing how early farmers once shaped this windswept landscape. Walk to the cliff-top viewing platform for breathtaking vistas over the Atlantic Ocean and the endless boglands that have preserved this ancient site for millennia.
As evening approaches, continue to your accommodation in County Mayo, where you’ll spend the night surrounded by the tranquility of Ireland’s untamed west. Enjoy dinner at leisure, perhaps sampling local seafood or hearty regional fare, and reflect on a day that perfectly blends nature, heritage, and wellbeing.
Day 7: Atlantic Horizons – Day Trip to Achill Island & Westport
After breakfast, set out on a memorable journey to Achill Island, one of Ireland’s most breathtaking and unspoiled destinations. Connected to the mainland by a bridge at Achill Sound, the island is renowned for its sweeping Atlantic vistas, rugged mountains, and long, pristine beaches that perfectly capture the spirit of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Begin your exploration with a scenic drive across the island, passing traditional cottages, peat bogs, and sheep-dotted hillsides framed by the towering slopes of Slievemore Mountain. Stop at the evocative Deserted Village, where the remains of nearly 100 stone cottages stand as a poignant reminder of Ireland’s past.
Continue west to the world-famous Keem Bay, a horseshoe-shaped cove with turquoise waters and white sands often hailed as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Take time for a leisurely stroll, a few photos, or simply to breathe in the fresh Atlantic air and absorb the island’s serene beauty. Before leaving Achill, visit Achill Sea Salt, a small, family-run enterprise that harvests pure sea salt from the island’s pristine waters. Learn about the traditional, sustainable methods used to produce this acclaimed Irish product and perhaps pick up a small keepsake to take home.
Enjoy a relaxed lunch at Ted’s Bar, a beloved local spot offering hearty dishes and a warm island welcome—perfect for savoring the flavors of the west coast. In the afternoon, return toward the mainland and make your way to the charming town of Westport, often celebrated as one of Ireland’s most picturesque and friendly towns. Take a stroll around its colorful streets lined with boutique shops and cafés, or visit the elegant Westport House, an 18th-century mansion set amid beautiful parkland overlooking Clew Bay.
Return to your accommodation in the evening, reflecting on a day filled with natural beauty, local craftsmanship, and the true essence of Ireland’s Atlantic coast.

Alternatively, take a short scenic drive to the charming coastal town of Malahide, just north of the city. Here, visit the magnificent Malahide Castle and Gardens, one of Ireland’s oldest castles with a history spanning over 800 years. Explore its beautifully furnished rooms, rich in family stories and heritage, before wandering through the extensive gardens and butterfly house. The castle’s parklands and nearby village make for a peaceful and fitting finale to your journey.
