Day 1,Paris

Arrive at the airport in Paris, France where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure and begin discovering the wondrous City of Light. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner in the hotel. (D)

Day 2,Paris

Start your day off with a guided exploration of France's capital. Sightseeing tour includes:

  • The Eiffel Tower
  • Champs-Elysées
  • Arc du Triomphe
  • Rue de Rivoli
  • Madeleine

  • Les Invalides
  • Place de la Concorde

Day 3,Paris

Today we experience the historical side of Paris. Your tour includes:

Day 4,Paris, Rouen, and Caen

In the morning we depart for Caen. On the way, we’ll stop in Rouen for a guided tour of the old capital of the Norman Duchy. Here, we’ll visit its Gothic cathedral and its impressive west façade painted by the great Impressionist Claude Monet.

We continue to Caen along the Norman coast for a glimpse of Les Falaises - breathtaking white cliffs. Along the way, you will be amazed by the picturesque towns we pass including Honfleur and Deauville.

We will enjoy dinner at the hotel. (B, D)

Day 5,Caen, Mont Saint-Michel, Saint-Malo, and Brest

In the morning we begin our journey from Caen to Brest. Our stops along the way include:

  • Mont Saint-Michel – A guided tour of the town and hilltop Abbey surrounded by the sea. The first structure was built in the 8th century and was subsequently expanded and enhanced over the centuries with the addition of Romanesque and Gothic buildings.
  • Saint-Malo – Along the way witness the distinctive Breton lifestyle as you head for the magnificent fortified port of Saint-Malo known as the “Pearl of the Emerald Coast”.

Day 6,Brest and Quimper

Today is dedicated to the discovery of the Breton region known as Finistere. We leave by way of the rugged Penmarch Peninsula with its famous lighthouse and return via Quimper, capital of the Cornwall region of Brittany. The city features:

  • An impressive Gothic Cathedral
  • Compelling Old Districts
  • Fine Art Galleries and Museums
  • Excellent shopping

In the afternoon we will head north to the scenic Crozon Peninsula with its rugged coast and no less than four capes jutting out into the Atlantic waters. Visit the little resort of Camaret, a typical Breton village of fishermen. (B)

Day 7,Brest, Concerneau, Carnac, and Nantes

In the morning we depart for Nantes with a stop in Concerneau and a visit to the Ville Close- considered one of the most beautiful French towns.

We continue on to the popular seaside town of Carnac and its world-renowned prehistoric sites. As far back as 4000 BC, thousands of ancient granite rocks (known as menhirs) were arranged in mysterious lines and patterns in the countryside around Carnac by Megalithic tribes.

Day 8,Nantes, Angers, and Tours

Depart for Angers to visit the capital of the historic province of Anjou, one of the most beautiful in France. The massive château of granite and schist, built by Louis IV, overlooks the banks of the Maine River. The great château with its bulky towers stood guard at the gateway to the western Loire Valley. The cathedral of Angers, dedicated to Saint Maurice, has architectural styles of both the Romanesque and Gothic. The cathedral was built by two bishops, Normand de Doue and Guillaume de Beaumont, between the 12th-13th centuries.

Day 9,Tours, Chenonceau, Amboise, and Paris

Depart for Chenonceau to visit the castle, considered to be the most beautiful in Loire. This pure Renaissance building began life as a modest manor and water mill on the River Cher and is surrounded by elegant formal gardens.

We continue to Amboise where the castle was built on the remains of an old feudal fortress. Its transformation was started by Charles VIII and was completed by Louis XII and François I. This castle was frequently a royal residence during the 16th century.

It’s time to head home and print those amazing photos you took and share your stories! Meet our representative and transfer to the airport for your return flight. (B)
